This workshop focuses on File-to-Factory (f2f) processes, and how these have influenced the daily practice of the discipline of design, making its functional, productive and aesthetic models evolve. It proposes an exercise that explores the possibilities of 3D production. In particular, students investigate digital design and the production of “meshes” and “three-dimensional fabrics” manufactured by 3D printing at various scales, and through the use and implementation of various materials. The printers of the IED workshop will be used in multidisciplinary groups.
